Hundreds of fans were today expected to gather for the world premiere of the movie version of Lord of the Rings.

The Fellowship of the Ring, the first in a three-part adaptation of British author JRR Tolkien’s epic works, is tipped to rival Harry Potter at the box office this Christmas in a war of the wands showdown.
