Clint Eastwood appointed to California parks board

Clint Eastwood appointed to California parks board

Clint Eastwood has been appointed to the California State Park and Recreation Commission.

The appointment was made by the state's Governer Gray Davis.

Eastwood was mayor of Carmel from 1986 to 1988 and has been an activist for environmental and other issues for many years.

The commission shapes policies for more than 260 state parks and meets about six times a year in different areas of the state.

Commission members are unpaid and serve four-year terms
