Penelope and Tom to be united in wax

Penelope Cruz could soon be on display next to Tom Cruise in Madame Tussaud's.

A new waxwork of the Spanish actress has been unveiled at the London tourist attraction.

The museum hopes to have a new model of Tom on show in the New Year.

A Tussaud's spokeswoman said: "We did have Tom Cruise about 15 years ago but we took him out because it was a waxwork from his Top Gun days and it looked nothing like him any more.

"But we are in the process of making a new Tom, which will hopefully be ready in January.

"If they are still together in real life then we'll be putting them together."

The new model of Penelope features her wearing a floor-length blue dress with plunging neckline.
