Friends stars told they can carry on for another series

Friends stars have been told it's up to them whether the show carries on for another series.

It had been thought the series currently being screened in America would be the last.

There is now talk it may carry on for another series because it has done so well in the ratings.

But NBC boss Jeff Zucker says if the actors do want to do another series the network isn't prepared to increase their $750,000 per episode salaries.

"It's not really a negotiation, it's a decision," said Zucker.

"They know how much money they can make. It's a lot of money and they should have to decide whether they want to come back.

"It's really in their hands now, and obviously their call."
