Darius told to smarten up for Pop Idol

Darius Danesh is being urged to smarten up in his bid to win Pop Idol.

His management team have told him not to wear his usual T-shirt and jeans for Saturdays heat of the show.

They want him to go for a smarter look as he bids to get through to the last 10 contestants.

Darius's assistant manager Tracey Chapman told a Scottish tabloid: "I begged him not to wear his usual jeans and T-shirt look for Pop Idol.

"He went shopping for his outfit last week in Glasgow and Edinburgh but I still haven't a clue what he's going to wear.

"Madonna, Geri, even Robbie Williams, have constantly re-invented themselves - and Darius has to as well. I think it's very important."
