Vinnie Jones tackles soccer replays in new prison movie
Vinnie Jones says playing football in his new movie was harder than he expected.
He says the rest of the cast of The Mean Machine just wanted to have a proper game.
But director Barry Skolnick put paid to that by asking for repeated takes of the footballing action.
Jones plays a washed up soccer star kicked out of the game for his alleged match-fixing activities, who ends up in prison for assault.
He then agrees to coach the prison football team.
Jones said: "I suppose everyone thought I'd love the idea of playing soccer again and I did.
"The trouble is that you can't just play around. You have to wait for the director to get his act together.
"So it was stop, start and then stop, start again, all day in fact until you are ripping your hair out.
"All the other guys wanted to do was have a proper game but that was out of the question."
David Hemmings, John Forgeham and Vas Blackwood also star in the movie.
