Friends star wants to become a teacher

David Schwimmer is planning to leave the acting profession and become a teacher.

He says he's ready to leave the comedy which made him a household name.

Schwimmer said: "There is so much other stuff that I want to do that I'm ready for Friends to be over.

"I would like to teach in public school. I think I have a lot to offer in that area.

"I just see this chapter of my life coming to a close and I'm not quite sure what the next chapter has in store."
