Becks 'starstruck' by Michael Jordan

David Beckham says if he could swap places with anyone for a week it would be his hero Michael Jordan.

He says he was starstruck when he met the basketball star in a restaurant.

The England captain says his heroes also include Usher, Dr Dre, Muhammad Ali and Eric Cantona.

He said: "I think Michael Jordan is the most starstruck I've ever been when I met him.

"Even though he was sat at a table with Madonna and a couple of others, I was looking straight at him. Victoria just nudged my leg and said 'stop embarrassing me.'

"They sent a drink over, a bottle of champagne and we went to say thank you. Madonna had sent it over. Michael Jordan stood up and I shook his hand and his whole hand covered the whole of my arm."

David says the best goal he has scored was probably his effort from the halfway line at Wimbledon.

But he says the buzz he received from scoring the equaliser in the England v Greece World Cup qualifier may have tipped it, especially as he got to meet his idol Usher after the game.

"It was someone I've always wanted to meet, I've got every album and I listen to his music all the time," he says.

"It's good, it's nerve-racking, but I enjoyed it. It made it even better when he had my shirt on."
