The Shape I’m In: Luke Fitzgerald

WITH his professional rugby career behind him due to serious injury, Luke Fitzgerald is now free to enjoy more of the simple pleasures of life, including the occasional drink.

“I’ll have a few beers with friends — it’s nice to relax now that I’ve finished playing rugby. You don’t really get much opportunity to drink when you’re playing,” says the former Ireland player.

For the first five years of the Dubliner’s career, he didn’t drink at all. It was a decision he made following a chat with an older player.
