HTC to make major announcement this week

Taiwanese smartphone manufacturer HTC is set to make a major announcement on Thursday this week and a number of tipsters and insiders are convinced it’s related to Google’s alleged acquisition of the company.

As noted by Gadgets 360, Tim Culpan of Bloomberg, tipster Evan Blass and a number of Taiwanese sites are reporting that HTC will announce the Google acquisition on Thursday.

The acquisition will reportedly see Google takeover HTC’s smartphone business and allow for HTC to focus solely on its VR business Vive.
