Facebook's Messenger now suggests songs

M, the intelligent assistant featured in Facebook’s Messenger instant messaging service, can now provide users with Spotify song suggestions based on user conversations.

As reported by Venture Beat, M’s music suggestion feature is triggered by discussing music in a Facebook Messenger conversation and by using specific words and phrases like ‘listen to music’.

Naming a specific artist in a conversation will trigger M to ask the users if they want to listen to said artist via Spotify.

Clicking the prompt provided by M takes users to a Spotify webview from which they can access and play M’s recommendations.
