Destiny sequel will have more content updates multiple developers

One of the top complaints from fans of 2014’s Destiny was a lack of new content as the game aged.

Developed by Bungie, the creators of the Halo franchise, Destiny was well received but the lone studio, known for high standards and long development times, just couldn’t keep up with fans’ demand for new material.

Eric Hirshberg, CEO of Activision Publishing (which publishes Destiny), has acknowledged this and announced the recruitment of a team of secondary studios that will be responsible for downloadable content (via Gamespot).

Among them are High Moon, developers of the Transformers games, and Vicarious Visions, makers of Skylanders.

Destiny 2 goes on sale for PS4 and Xbox One on 6 September and 24 October for PC.

PS4 owners can play the beta on 18 July while Xbox gets it one day later.

PC gamers can expect their own beta in late August.
