Three new maps confirmed for Overwatch

The critically acclaimed team-based first-person shooter Overwatch will receive three new maps at some point during this year, as revealed by game director Jeff Kaplan in a post on the Blizzard forums (via Game Informer).

Speaking about the new maps, which will be used for competitive and quickplay, Kaplan said:

‘While something could always change, all three of those are looking likely for a release this year.’

Kaplan also indicated the Overwatch team is busy working on three separate maps that won’t be used in the main gameplay modes:

‘We want to play on these maps as badly as you guys do. We'll work as fast as we can!’
