Strong selection at Durrow and Cork auctions
Viewing gets under way today for a three-day sale at Sheppard’s in Durrow next Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.
With everything from a 19th-century fireplace from Leixlip Castle (€40,000-€60,000) and an 18th-century carved overmantle mirror (€3,000-€5,000), to a Regency dining table (€5,000-€7,000) and a c.1690 French tapestry (€4,000-€6,000), the auction offers a wide variety of choice, including rugs and collectibles.
The Great Irish Interiors sales begins at 10.30am and 2pm next Tuesday and Wednesday, followed on Thursday by an afternoon sale of classic art from 2pm.
The sale at Woodward’s in Cork this day week will include contents from Windy Ridge, Rochestown Rd, Cork, an estate at Rushbrooke and a house on Model Farm Rd.

Prime lots include a pair of Regency foldover tea tables (€2,000-€4,000), a Sheraton inlaid bookcase (€2,000-€3,000), a Georgian card table (€500-€800), a Regency teapoy (€500-€800). Also included is a Georgian sofa table (€1,000-€1,500), antique furniture, Waterford Crystal, rugs, garden furniture, and art by Marshall Hutson, Barrie Cooke and others.
Viewing is from 2pm to 5pm today and tomorrow and from 10am to 5pm all next week. The sale is at 11am on Saturday.
