Facebook tests additional News Feed

Facebook is currently testing a new feature that nobody asked for: a second News Feed.

As noted in an article from TechCrunch, a number of Facebook users have noticed the addition of a ‘rocket ship’ icon to their News Feed but have received no explanation from the company as to what the icon represents.

As the article reveals, clicking the ‘rocket ship’ icon presents the user with an alternative News Feed that contains content from sources other than the ones followed by the user.

The new ‘rocket ship’ icon is appearing on both iOS and Android versions of the mobile app and was confirmed by a Facebook spokesperson as a ‘complimentary feed of popular articles, videos and photos’.
