Android co-founder teases new company's smartphone

Andy Rubin, the co-founder of Android, has just teased what is believed to be the first smartphone from his new hardware startup, Essential.

Posting on Twitter, Rubin uploaded a picture of what appears to be a smartphone concealed within his hand.

Rubin captioned the post with:

‘I’m really excited about how this is shaping up. Eager to get it in more people’s hands…’

No formal information about the mysterious smartphone has been revealed but the picture appears to feature a smartphone with an almost bezel-less display.

Bezel-less displays are a hot property in the smartphone market; the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S8 and iPhone 8 devices are both expected to utilise such displays.
