Facebook begins Stories feature roll out

Facebook began rolling out its Stories feature for the Facebook mobile app today as part of the social network’s efforts to capitalise on the popularity of rival Snapchat’s content format.

As reported by The Verge, the new Stories feature update consists of three parts: a revamped in-app camera, the addition of Stories to the top of the News Feed, and a private messaging tool named Direct.

Facebook’s Stories consists of images that can be decorated with text, stickers, filters and drawings, and as with Snapchat all Stories disappear after 24 hours.
