Call of Duty to go back in time again

The next Call of Duty title from publisher Activision may take the franchise back to its 20th Century roots, namely the Second World War.

Images acquired by The Family Video Gamers show what appears to be marketing material for a game titled Call of Duty: WWII, suggesting that the CoD series will indeed return to the World War era.

The Battlefield series, long regarded as Call of Duty’s biggest rival, recently released the World War I focused Battlefield 1 to critical acclaim while Call of Duty’s lastest entry, 2016’s Infinite Warfare, underwhelmed critics with its space faring setting.
