Facebook launches Gear VR 360-degree video app

Facebook has launched Facebook 360, a new 360-degree video app designed exclusively for the Samsung Gear VR and the first official VR social app from Facebook.

The app allows users to explore and share 360-degree content from both media companies and individual content creators, and features both 360-degree videos and pictures.

Facebook revealed the new app in a press release and noted that additional social features for the app are in development.

Users can download the Facebook 360 app via the Oculus site or through the Oculus app on Gear VR compatible Samsung devices.
