Despite its exalted status, Scarface isn’t a film that has aged well. So, perhaps it’s a good thing that a modern-day is in the pipeline, with Rogue One star Diego Luna in the lead role.
Variety has reported that Universal is about to appoint a new director, after Antoine Fuqua dropped off the project due to scheduling conflicts. The updated version will get a contemporary twist, with Luna playing a Mexican drug-dealer moving to LA, rather than Al Pacino’s Cuban immigrant in Miami.
