Weekend Loves: This week’s must do, see & buy

We love the new package from Dublin’s Shelbourne hotel. The Sunday night detox will rejuvenate after the festive season. Stay Sunday and enjoy one night bed and breakfast in a deluxe room, with dinner in The Saddle Room Restaurant and a one hour Elemis Superfood Pro Radiance Facial in The Spa at The Shelbourne. The Elemis Superfood Pro Radiance Facial is a crafted nutritional boost for stressed and dull skin. Rich in superfoods, essential minerals and trace elements (magnesium, potassium, zinc, vitamin A and E) form a mineral army to jump-start tired and exhausted skin.

An amino active mask helps restore lost moisture, nourish, detox and pack the skin with powerful, energising nutrients. Skin is left smoother, plumper and luminously radiant, and stress-free.

This overnight spa package costs from €399 per room per night and is available through to 31 March. The 60-minute Elemis Superfood Pro Radiance Facial is also available to non-hotel guests for €120.

The Spa at The Shelbourne, 27 St Stephen’s Green, Dublin 2.

Hassetts bakery — named Cork Artisan Producers at the Cork Business Awards — has a loyal following in its Carrigaline base, and also at its city premises on Washington St and the English Market (their granary bread is a life changer).

The Carrigaline coffee shop — in business 21 years — has just been renovated, and the packaging rebranded. Better still, the Blas na hÉireann silver-winning chocolate Viennese, the gold-awarded linseed and black pepper cracker, and other key products are now selling at the local Super Valu in Carrigaline.

After the runaway success of her debut book, The Happy Closet, where she showed us how to clean up our wardrobes with ease, the Irish Examiner’s fashion editor is back, this time with a tome that applies the same logic to our lives. The Happy Medium (Gill; €14.99) has a simple message: swap the weight of having it all for having more with less. Just what we need for 2017.
