Ryanair's Christmas ad shows what an Irish homecoming's really like

Ryanair have a Christmas ad out and it gets straight to the heart of what a festive homecoming is like in Ireland.

Starting off in a predictably sentimental manner, cue tinkly piano music, it turns into an amusing look at what a family Christmas can really be like.

As the clip says: "the warm embrace of loved ones, the laughter... usually lasts about two minutes, then reality hits."

We then get to meet the stroppy sister, the disgruntled mammy and the tipsy uncle.

The festive board game is the point where our poor home-comer decides to escape.
