1 Freezin’ for a reason

If you are you brave enough to take a Polar Plunge to raise much-needed money for Special Olympics Ireland you can certainly support those who are at three such events today. The National Maritime College of Ireland in Ringaskiddy in Co Cork is first out today at noon, with other Polar Plunges taking place at 1.30pm on Salthill Promenade in Co Galway and at on Rathmullan Strand in Co Donegal. 2 One enchanted evening

Composer Patrick Cassidy will bring the iconic Irish legend - The Children of Lir - to life with the help of actor Patrick Bergin, and choir master Michael Dawson, the Enchiriadis Chamber Choir and the Orchestra of Ireland. This one night only performance will take place in St Patrick’s Cathedral, Dublin from 8pm to 9.30pm. The evening is in aid of The Friends’ of St Luke’s Cancer Care. 3 Oh yes it is

Cork Opera House is pulling out all the stops to bring the all-time favourite fairy tale Cinderella to the stage this year. Magnificent scenery and costumes, spectacular song and dance routines, live music, comedy capers and magical special effects are all part of the show. 4 Drive time

With party season underway it’s good to know the 12th annual Designated Driver campaign is back with more than 1,000 pubs, restaurants and hotels taking part.

5 Radio cheer

If you haven’t tuned in already, Christmas FM, which raises hundreds of thousands of euro for deserving charities every year, has returned and is playing continuous Christmas classics right up until Christmas Day.
