Striking art and interiors at Hegarty’s auction

The Irish art and interiors sale at Hegarty’s in Bandon tomorrow features around 50 lots of Irish art, 18th and 19th century silver, small decorative items and some late 19th century Edwardian furniture. It will include collectibles from the estate of Marie Baker and silver from the Ridgeway collection including a rare 18th century Irish silver tankard.

Art in the sale includes work by Mark O’Neill, Arthur Maderson, Elizabeth Cope, Graham Knuttel, James Brohan, Frank Egginton and Claude Hayes. There are three late 19th century French pier mirrors, 19th century French clocks in porcelain mounted in ormolu, some boulle furniture, a Waterford six- branch chandelier and a 1999 Moorcroft holly hatch bowl designed by Rachel Bishop, one of only two made. The furniture selection includes a Georgian chest of drawers, an Edwards and Roberts Pembroke table, a late 19th century dining table, a half- moon pier table and some late 19th century Edwardian inlaid drawing room furniture. Viewing in Bandon is from 12pm to 5pm today and from 12pm to the start of the auction at 4pm tomorrow.
