'be3', the newest member of the the three channel group, will begin broadcasting on January 9, it was announced today at the Cliff Townhouse on St Stephen's Green.
Both TV3 and 3e will also reveive new identities.
TV3 will remain the group's flagship channel and will focus heavily on premium Irish content and the "best of acuquired programming".
The channel will see a step-up in the original content such as Red Rock, Gogglebox Ireland, Celebrity Masterchef, and The Restaurant.
TV3 will also build on their commitment to current afairs programming with Pat Kennty Tonight, Tonight with Vincent Browne, and Agenda presented by David Williams, continuing to be the heart of their schedule.
3e will, beginning in January, be home to ratings hits such as Big Brother and Celebrity Big Brother, along with Xtra Factor, Get Me Out of Here Now, and Britain's Got More Talent, as well as a host of talks shows like Graham Norton and Jonathan Ross.
be3 will be home to drama and chat shows and also give viewers a second chance to watch their favourite soaps.
Midsomer Murders, Loose Women and Benidorm will be given a new home on the channel, as well as TV3 Group's '3Kids' which will give childrens programing a new three hour block on be3.
The new channel hopes to supplement TV3 and 3e's output and keep audiences up todate with national and international news with two half hour news bulletins every weekeday evening.
be3 will be available on channel 106 on Virgin Media, channel 116 on Sky, channel 106 on Saorview, channel 108 on Eir’s eVision and channel 106 on Vodafone.
Speaking at the launch, Bill Malone, TV3 Group Director of Programming, said: “Today we give you a first look at the ambitious plans for the TV3 Group.
"Today’s story is not about a new channel or a new name for a channel. It represents a historic shift in Irish broadcasting.
"TV3 is now a three channel business and today we unveil three new-look and distinctive brands. Our commitment to Irish programming is clearly evident – we are now an Irish broadcaster of scale.”
TV3’s new look three channel offering will come into effect from Monday January 9, 2017.
