Diamonds to delight at Marshs auction
Mealy’s will offer a selection which includes items from the Gore-Booth family, Lissadell House, and period furniture and decorative art from the collection of Anthony O’Reilly previously at Castlemartin, and items from the collection of the estate of the late Professor Anne Crookshank as well as the Mountainstown House great Irish elk antlers.
Viewing for the two-day winter sale, on December 6 and 7, gets under way in Castlecomer at noon tomorrow.
In Cork, Marshs auction on December 10 will include Georgian and Victorian furniture and a large collection of jewellery including diamond rings, bracelets, gold chains, ear rings and a selection of costume jewellery.
In Dublin, James Adam will offer fine jewellery and watches next Tuesday at 6pm and the historical documents incorporated into the fine art sale on Wednesday include a surrender letter by Padraig Pearse estimated at €1m to €1.5m and a copy of the Proclamation estimated at €250,000 to €350,000.
