At 73 Tony Christie is still showing the way to Amarillo

At 73, the veteran singer still loves the buzz of playing to a live audience, writes Jonathan deBurca Butler.

TONY Christie has been on the road for over five decades. And the English crooner has no intention of stopping anytime soon, unless of course he needs to ask ‘The Way to Amarillo’.

“The touring is going incredibly well,” says the 73-year-old. “And the thing about it is, it’s enjoyable. It’s not a job for me really.”
