WATCH: Boy who suffered brain injury speaks for the first time in years

Tripp Halstead was critically injured when a tree limb fell on him on the playground at daycare.

"It fell on his head and crushed his skull into many pieces."

His mother keeps a Facebook page dedicated to his progress since the accident.

She posted the video below which shows the happy moment where he speaks for the first time in years.

His mother cannot contain her excitement, you can hear it in her voice the whole way through the video.

She says: "We are so thankful that he is still with us.

"The Dr’s still won’t tell us how far he will go. They just say with this much brain damage, most children don’t survive."

Tripp is doing more than just surviving and with over 1.2 million views, he’s got a enormous, supportive audience behind him as well as his devoted mother.
