Qantas pilot proves that love is in the air with mid-flight marriage proposal

A Qantas pilot has delighted passengers on a flight to LA by popping the question to his girlfriend over the plane’s PA system.

Captain Dooley Ellis made the mid-flight proposal in front of more than 500 passengers who were travelling on the 18-hour flight from Melbourne to Los Angeles last weekend.

Captain Ellis said: "We have a very special passenger on board today folks - her name is Anna. She’s travelling back to South America now to visit her family and I want to make sure she comes back to me in Australia."

"So now that I have her full attention ... quieres casarte conmigo? Will you marry me?"

The dashing Captain then walks into the business class cabin to present Anna with a ring and a bunch of flowers before she says yes.
