Watch: Car attempts u-turn on busy Irish dual carriageway and the inevitable happens

This is the terrifying moment a small vehicle attempts to make a bizarre u-turn on a dual carriageway and smashes into an oncoming car.

A dashboard camera in a Mercedes being driven by an employee of DS Executive Services, a Belfast-based chauffeur service, is seen traveling up the A1 near the Rathfriland turn-off in Co Down earlier this week.

The result is a hefty smash which rendered both cars write-offs.

A small car then pulls out of the hard shoulder, in what appears to be an attempted u-turn, ,leaving the Mercedes driver with no time to react.

Both drivers suffered minor injuries.
