Following the debate Stephen Colbert waved his Emmys in Donald Trump’s face

For some unknown reason, Donald Trump’s inability to win an Emmy Award for his Apprentice TV show was a topic that cropped up in last night’s presidential debate.

Over the last few days, Trump has been making wild and unsubstanciated claims that the election was going to be rigged in favour of Hillary Clinton.

Clinton responded to this with other ways Trump believed things were rigged against him.

“There was even a time when he didn’t get an Emmy for his TV programme three years in a row and he started tweeting that the Emmys were rigged against him.”

The Emmys are all politics, that's why, despite nominations, The Apprentice never won--even though it should have many times over.

Stephen Colbert, host of the Late Show, was doing a live reaction to last nights debate when he himself touched on the subject of winning an Emmy…or two.

“He may have a point there. I’m beginning to think those television awards may be controlled by members of the media”

“And you know Donald, you really should get one, they’re fantastic”
