Donald Trump claims he was given a 'defective microphone' in the first presidential debate

Donald Trump has claimed that he was given a defective microphone during the first presidential debate last night.

In an interview with several media organisations following the debate, the Republican nominee was asked about the performance of moderator Lester Holt, but deflected the question by complaining about the quality of his mic.

"I felt he was fine, I felt it was fine. And they also gave me a defective mic, did you notice that?" he said.

"My mic was defective within the room."

"I wonder, was that on purpose? But I had a mic that wasn't working properly within the room."

The good folks at home let their feelings be known on Twitter.
