The National Ploughing Championships is a time for culchies and city folk to join forces in their shared love of all things celebrity, if you are heading up this year make sure to get a selfie from someone in RTÉ - it is a must!
Ironically for the National Ploughin Championships, not many people actually visit the ploughing sites, however without it we would not have this great event that we all love so much, so here’s to the ploughing!
From puppies to cattle, sheep to horses, you will find plenty of cute animals to look at at the ploughing and it is always a delight.
With scores of people traipsing around the site every day, mud is a given and there is a weird satisfying enjoyment to be gotten squelching through the mud in your wellingtons.
From wellies to hurleys, the ploughing championships has everything that a culchie could need in life and many use it as a time to stock up on the essentials.

With the added addition of tractor football this year, the ploughing is always full of random games and elaborate set ups that amuse the masses as they wander around the massive site.
It’s only flaw? Not being long enough - three days isn’t enough!
