School bus driver fired following scary near miss with truck

A New Jersey school bus driver has been fired after a video showing the vehicle nearly colliding with a FedEx truck went viral.

The scary moment was caught on video by Steve O’Connor who posted it to his Facebook page. It shows the yellow bus attempting to overtake on Airport Road and then swerving to avoid the FedEx truck.

It has now been viewed more than 250,000 times on Facebook.

NBC New York reported that no schoolchildren were on board at the time. Representatives for Jay’s Bus Service said the driver was fired Wednesday night as soon as the owner of the company saw the video.

Police are also said to be investigating.
