Tributes have been flowing in on Twitter from home and abroad for heroic Caitriona Lucas.

The 41-year-old Coast Guard volunteer, lost her life during a search and recovery operation on Monday in Kilkee, Co Clare when her boat capsized.

Hundreds of mourners gathered for her funeral mass this morning.

The mother-of-two from Liscannor, Co. Clare, is the first serving member of the Irish Coast Guard to lose her life while on duty.
