This is a change of venue for this popular event, necessitated by the refurbishment of Silver Springs. There will be antique furniture, art, porcelain, silver, and a range of collectible items.

FINE SELECTION

The selection on offer at Aidan Foley’s auction in Doneraile at 1pm today includes a gilt mirror, a long case clock, a credenza, Victorian sewing tables, antique pine furniture, siliver plate, books, rugs and Irish art. Viewing from 11 am.

DUBLIN VIEWINGS

In Dublin, viewing for Morgan O’Driscoll’s online auction of Important Irish Art next Monday at 6.30 pm is now in full swing at the RDS. There are 135 works, including sculpture.

Among the artists whose work will feature are John Shinnors, Mark O’Neill, Patrick Scott, Letitia Marion Hamilton, Tony O’Malley, Basil Blackshaw, Frank McKelvey, Patrick Hennessy and Hughie O’Donoghue.

There is a print of a skull with candle by Gerhard Richter estimated at €3,500-€4,500 and a Famine Ship by John Behan (€9,000-€12,000).

SOTHEBY’S SALE

Fresh from a successful viewing at the RHA in Dublin last weekend, Sotheby’s will offer a selection of Irish art to the international and Irish markets in London at 2.30 pm next Tuesday.

The sale includes works by stalwarts like Lavery, Yeats, Orpen, O’Conor, Gerard Dillon, Paul Henry as well as work by some contemporary Irish artists.
