Uluru, also known as Ayers Rock, is one of the most iconic Australian landmarks - but we’ve never seen it like this before.

This drone footage provides a stunning perspective of Uluru

From the Explore Uluru Facebook page:

"These spectacular birds-eye views of Australia’s spiritual heart were captured by the first drone to ever operate under permit inside Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park and we thank the Traditional Owners for their support."

This drone footage offers a unique perspective on the large sandstone formation which stands at 1,142 ft - it’s actually surprisingly green, in parts.

The formation in the Northern Territory holds special cultural significance for the local traditional inhabitants of the area, the A?angu people, who lead walking tours to inform visitors about the flora and fauna, bush food and Aboriginal dreamtime stories.
