You might think Cork's leading evening newspaper, The Evening Echo, is an unlikely home for a summer soap series. Well, you'd be wrong.

On Monday the newspaper started an innovative new fictional summer soap series called "Scattered".

A story based in Cork - which will appear first in the newspaper each day for a fortnight - the series follows the trials and tribulations of a street sweeper - or sanitation expert as he likes to call himself - called Timmy.
