See the plane that skidded off an Italian runway and ended up on the road with drivers
The plane suffered a “runway overrun” upon landing at Bergamo airport, just outside Milan, at around 4am local time.
The DHL 737-400 aircraft had flown in from Charles de Gaulle airport in Paris.
Photos show the plane straddling the central reservation in the early morning – quite a sight for your average driver.

The airport was temporarily closed, and passengers were delayed as flights were cancelled, including some from Ryanair.
Due to the closure of Milan Bergamo Airport, we regret some flights have been cancelled this morning. Apologies. https://t.co/gQueKw5mq3

Luckily, none of the crew or anyone on the ground was injured.
