Huawei's smartphone shipments jump in H1 2016

Huawei revealed its financial results for the first half of the year, and reported a significant increase in sales revenue and smartphone shipments.

In a press statement, the Chinese company stated, “Sales revenue in the first half of 2016 increased by 41% year-on- year to US$11.6 billion. Smartphone shipments stood at 60.56 million, a year-on-year increase of 25%."

It revealed that it has seen particularly fast growth in high-end smartphone markets like Europe, as well as in emerging markets such as North Africa, Central Asia and Latin America. In fact, its international market growth is 1.6 times faster than mainland China.

Huawei also reported that 4.5 million P9 and P9 Plus devices with the number sold internationally significantly larger than sales of the P8 in 2015.
