The sad news came through yesterday that soccer legend Shay Given had decided to retire from the Republic of Ireland after a 20-year international career.

Like most players these days, Given took to Twitter to post his retirement statement.

As they usually are with these sorts of things, Sky Sports News were quick to jump on the story.

However, things got a little tricky for the presenters as they tried to get their heads around the "Go raibh maith agat" at the end of Given’s statement.

To be fair, we think the second guy has a right good stab at it and we all know how bloody hard Irish is to learn.
