Split trailer- Shyamalan strikes again with hair rising thriller

Well now, doesn't this look interseting.

The Sixth Sense and Unbreakable writer/director hit it big last year with the release of The Visit, a pared back chiller which saw him going back to his roots of chills and thrills. And his next looks even better.

Split might be the role of a lifetime for Scottish actor James McAvoy, and you'll have to watch the trailer to find out why.

Good golly that looks like tense and powerful stuff, and best not to think about potential twists based on this trailer. Split sees Shyamalan working once again with producer Jason Blum who is a master of keeping costs low and still creating quality productions like Sinister, Insidious and The Purge series.

Joaquin Phoenix was originally set for the lead role but McAvoy arguably makes for a better replacement, really getting to show off his range and playing bald yet again, but a lot more interesting than Professor X. A full release is planned for January, 2017 but don't be surprised to get some early buzz from a screening before then.
