Hello Games has revealed that you won't need a PlayStation Plus subscription to play No Man's Sky.

Technically, No Man's Sky is a single player game, but Sony's store page stated "online multiplayer also requires a PlayStation Plus subscription." A Hello Games spokesperson told Game Informer that you won't need a subscription, but added, "You will need to connected to the internet for your discoveries to register with the universal atlas."

In other news, Hello Games' Sean Murray took to Twitter to reassure fans that the game doesn't use a patented "superformula." He added, "I wish Johan Gielis, the author, all the best in future. We're going to meet and chat maths once the game is out."

Meanwhile, Genicap spokesperson Jeroen Sparrow has said that Murray invited members of Genicap over for coffee to clarify comments regarding the superformula.
