We all know cats can go off on a wander for a few days at a time, but this Belfast cat takes the biscuit by disappearing for 18 months and turning up in Liverpool.

The rescue cat belonged to Julie Blair, who was overjoyed to receive a phone call from Garston Animal Rescue who found the little tyke wandering around Liverpool looking for food.

After checking his microchip the volunteers at the Animal Rescue named him ’Danny Boy’ as his owner was from Northern Ireland, but the four year old’s real name is Sapeurs Pompier.
