Treasure hunters head to the popular Hibernian in Kinsale

Des O’Sullivan says a full house is guaranteed at popular Hibernian sale.

Treasure hunters with an interest in the antique will have their pick of Irish silver, antique furniture, art, jewellery and collectibles at Acton’s Hotel in Kinsale tomorrow.

Hibernian Antique Fairs will be in Kinsale which is a particularly popular venue with both buyers and dealers. Dealers find it is a great place to sell and a full house is guaranteed.

There will be 30 stands packed to the brim with all sorts of items to interest collectors in a wide variety of fields and at prices to suit all pockets.

The display of Irish 18th century silver and jewellery will be especially strong.

Weldons will show this two-carat diamond ring with 10 sapphires around it made in France c1920 at the antique fair in Kinsale.

For the first time in Kinsale the organisers will have both branches of the Weldon family present, JW Weldon of Clarendon St and CM Weldon of Powerscourt Townhouse in Dublin will bring along a fine display.

There will be art, books, porcelain, vintage fashion, antique furniture, coins and banknotes, porcelain, china and glass and Victorian tools.

Opening times are from 11am to 6pm.
