Nest launches outdoor camera for home security
The camera is constantly recording and uploading footage to the cloud, so you'll be able to check back on any timespan of interest, and it shoots at 1080p with a 130-degree view, so you should be able to make out relevant details.
It does need to be plugged into an outlet and doesn't feature on-board storage though, so a power outage or WiFi drop could render it useless.
The Nest Cam Outdoor uses magnets and screw-on mounts (if needed) to attach to the outside of your home. Nest says that the magnetic bond between the base and the camera will let you point it in any direction required.
The Nest Cam Outdoor is available to pre-order and will be released in the autumn.
