Limerick's street party bid for European Capital of Culture 2020 went VERY well on Tuesday

The tour took the two visitors around the city, starting at the Strand Hotel before heading to Moyross, Cleeve’s Factory, UL, Troy studios and a walk of the city which was taken over by locals and visitors enjoying street parties put on across Limerick.
Limerick natives and supporters will have their fingers and toes crossed as they wait for the judging to conclude on Friday, but there was no doubt Limerick is a strong contender after the spectacular display organised on the day of judging.
#Limerick2020 was trending nationwide all day as the public shared images and comments on the events as they unfolded.

Limerick had plenty of art on show across the city that brightened up the streets on the day.
The Limerick street party pulled out all the stops with a giant table and chairs planted in The Crescent, at the top of O’Connell Street where a food market was set up and a a number of acrobatic amusements entertained the crowds through out the day.
It looked like a fantastic day with the weather holding up and hundreds of people milling about the streets enjoying the antics and tasting some of the fine cuisine on display.
