Crab becomes a star of recovered GoPro footage

GoPro cameras are pretty resilient, as one fisherman discovered when he found a GoPro camera that had spent almost a year underwater.

The camera itself didn’t actually survive, but it managed to keep the footage safe and secure. Francis Darracott then uploaded some of this footage to YouTube with the prospect of uploading more in the near future.

There’s about 30 minutes of footage in all, though he has trimmed this down and added some text commentary. Here he highlights that the owner of the GoPro made attempts at recovering it, and that the tide caused it to flip over. The highlight of the footage is a crab that comes wandering over and then seems captivated by the flashing red light.
