Coming out to your family can be a daunting experience but this Californian teen thought that she should have some fun with it.

This teenager came out to her family - on a rollercoaster

16-year-old Gina shared this photo to Twitter showing how she chose to tell her parents and brother that she was gay - by holding a sign while riding Splash Mountain at Disneyland.

"I am not the type of person to have a deep, sit-down conversation, so I wanted to tell them in a lighthearted and fun way," she told Buzzfeed.

"I love funny ride photos so I figured I could make the sign just in case I decided to go for it, and I did."

And Gina says her family have been very supportive.

"My dad and brother said they were already 70% sure I was gay but my mom had no idea," she said. "But I knew they would be super accepting."

As have all the strangers on the internet who have now seen her tweet after it went viral.

"People have responded saying I’ve inspired them to do the same thing, which I think is the coolest part of it all."
