Magical trailer for Kubo and the Two Strings

Laika have been making magical movies using the age old process of stop motion for many moons now, but they're not afraid to also embrace new technology and really challenge themselves. Kubo and the Two Strings looks like it's really going to push the boundaries of the studio.

Here's the final trailer which reveals a little more story and some welcome humour.

The sheer amount of movement on offer in the frame is absolutely amazing, considering how painstaking the process of bringing these models to life is. Kubo marks the directorial debut of Laika's president and CEO Travis Knight, who worked as a lead animator on their previous films.

There's a mythic story on offer and a voice casts including Charlize Theron, Matthew McConaughey, Rooney Mara and Ralph Fiennes, as well as young Art Parkinson as Kubo. You might remember him as Rickon from Game of Thrones.

We can't wait for this one.

Kubo and the Two Strings is out in Ireland on the 9th of September, 2016.
